We are excited to announce the new Coach Jean L. Estes Memorial Scholarship, generously created by the Estes family in support of Cape Public Schools students! This scholarship honors the legacy of Coach Estes, a beloved figure who dedicated years to mentoring and guiding young athletes. It will be awarded annually to a deserving student-athlete who demonstrates strong leadership, commitment, and academic achievement. We are incredibly thankful to the Estes family for their generosity and for creating such a meaningful opportunity for our students! 🎓🏆

FOR SUNBUCKS: This information is being shared on behalf of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Food and Nutrition Services Department. If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Social Services by calling 855-373-4636. Missouri has been approved to provide money to families eligible for critical nutrition benefits. Families can apply to receive this support by submitting the application by Saturday, August 31, 2024. Families with children who meet the criteria will receive an EBT card by mail, or the benefit will be added to their existing EBT card. Criteria for automatic eligibility includes: The household already participates in SNAP or Temporary Assistance; including extended eligible household members, or The child is age 7-17 and in foster care, homeless, a migrant, or The child attends a school that offers the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program and the household income meets the requirements for free or reduced-price school meals. Cape Central senior Dulina Dias received the Leaders of Hope Award, presented by Baker Implement. The Leaders of Hope Award recognizes students for their community service.

The District will be hosting a tax rate hearing at the August 26, 2024 Board Meeting at Central Office, located at 301 N. Clark at 6:00 p.m. More information can be found on the District's Finance page.

The Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center is hosting a drive-thru immunization clinic on August 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The clinic will offer immunizations required for students entering Kindergarten, 8th grade, and 12th grade.
